I have felt my life falling apart! I was a young married father of two with a good job living the American dream. I was buying a house.
Then I got layed-off. I sent out 50 resumes and go no repose. What to do? I could go after a master degree. My wife could substitute teach.
My wife could not take the stress of teaching. What to do now? My God, what shall I do.
I talked to my wife and friends. I prayed for guidance.
Then it can to me, God is the great provider. If I put must trust in God, He will provide for me and my family. So, instead of looking for a job that did not exist, I went back to school to work for a master degree in Electrical Engineering.
One of the first things that happened, I was able to get a small contract with the State of California that helped pay the mortgage and put food on the table. The contract lasted about a year. What now, God.
I got a phone call from a fellow I use to work with. His question to me was I interested in a part time job. Thank you, God. I took the job and it lasted until I got my master degree.
I found a job with my new degree with a good local company and worked for them for 28 years.
So, we do not always have all the answers to our problem, but if trust, GOD WILL PROVIDE!

Thanks Bill for sharing your powerful story. Our prayers are not always answsered in the ways we imagine, but God has the larger picture in mind. Mark’s Gospel holds before us the larger picture where it is clear that God walks with us through challenges and shows us that compassion is always possible and no difficulty takes us ourside of God’s grace.
